My Life After Gluten will help you navigate the beginning stages of making gluten free food. It can be so overwhelming when you receive a diagnosis to navigate all the emotions, cleaning your house, giving away so-much-food, and trying to learn the basics of making sure the food you make is safe.
In 2013 one of my children was diagnosed with 5 food sensitivities. Even with my background in nutrition, I still had such a hard time navigating this change in our diet. There were so many days in the beginning of walking down the isles of Walmart crying as food item after food item I picked up was not safe for him to eat. Then last August, we finally got a diagnosis of celiac disease. When one family member has celiac disease, the whole family gets tested. Three out of my six kids have celiac disease, and I was diagnosed with gluten intolerance. I later found out that my grandfather had celiac disease, diagnosed late in life, so he never changed his life style.
Because of my earlier experience with changing our diet, there weren’t so many tears from feeling overwhelmed, just tears because my food budget more than DOUBLED! Now that is a big life change.
Let me help you with adapting recipes, finding safe brands, learning tips and tricks for baking, saving money, and so much more!
