cheesy bacon dip in a oval blue dish with gluten free bread and crackers on a wooden cutting board

Cheesy Bacon Dip

I love me a good cheesy bacon dip! This recipe is perfect for taking to holiday parties, serving at a book club luncheon, or wowing people at your next Super Bowl party. Perfectly gooey with just the right amount of spice too.

I prefer to use reduced fat cream cheese and light sour cream because this dip is already calorie-laden. It’s delicious, but not something you are going to want to serve your family every day. You could also use a turkey bacon if you needed to cut down calories even more.

Equipment

  • 1 oven safe dish I like to use my small oval enamel cast iron pan
  • small bowl
  • measuring cups & spoons, spatula
  • cheese grater

Ingredients

  • 4 oz reduced fat cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 C mayonnaise
  • 1/2 C light sour cream
  • 1/3 C pepper jack cheese
  • 1/3 C mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 C cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/8 tsp red pepper flakes(more or less as desired)
  • 4 slices bacon, crumbled

Instructions

  • Cook 4 slices of bacon and let cool. Crumble.
  • Turn on Broiler to LOW
  • In a small bowl combine softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, and sour cream until smooth.
  • Add onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, red pepper flakes, and bacon and stir.
  • Add all three shredded cheeses(reserve a little of the cheddar for the top) and stir.
  • Using a spatula, spread cheesy dip mixture into a prepared oven safe pan. If your pan isn't coated with enamel, you will probably want to grease it. Top mixture with reserved Cheddar cheese.
  • Broil on LOW for 7-9 minutes or until dip is heated through and the cheese on top is melted. NOTE: each oven broiler is different, please watch your dip carefully the first time and adjust as needed.

This dip is perfect served with gluten free baguettes or crackers. I like to make my own bread(recipe yet to come still!) or you can purchase some at your local store. My family likes the baguettes made by BFree. You can even serve this with tortilla chips. Whatever you do, just be prepared for this dip to go fast! The last party I took this too had even my non-gluten friends coming back for more.

Happy Baking!
